ORDINANCE NO. 369
AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF SOUTH PRAIRIE, PIERCE COUNTY, WASHINGTON ESTABLISHING
MANDATORY GARBAGE COLLECTION SERVICES AND BILLING THEREOF TO ALL RESIDENTS OF THE TOWN
OF SOUTH PRAIRIE.
Whereas, every person, organization and business in the Town of South Prairie
generates waste product, and
Whereas,
for
public health, safety and welfare, all waste products should be properly
collected and disposed of, and
Whereas, it has been found where there is not
mandatory waste or garbage collection, some parties will dispose of waste in an improper
manner, and
Whereas,
mandatory
garbage collection services provides an economical method for the citizenry to
dispose of waste, and
Whereas,
the
process of selecting a service provider is competitive and is open to public
input.
Now,
therefore, the Town Council of the Town of South Prairie, Pierce County, Washington
do ordain as follows:
Section 1: Effective the 1st day of May , 1999 the Town hereby establishes
mandatory garbage service at rates as set forth by the contracting disposal company.
Section 2: If any provision of this
ordinance is determined to be invalid or unenforceable for any reason, the
remaining provisions of this ordinance shall remain in force and effect.
Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
five (5) days from and after its passage, approval
and publication as required by law.
