ORDINANCE NO. 448

AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF SOUTH PRAIRIE, PIERCE COUNTY, WASHINGTON ADOPTING THE 2003 EDITION OF THE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, REPEALING ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT WITH THE 2003 EDITION OF THE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, ADOPTING THE WASHINGTON STATE AMENDMENTS TO THE 2003 UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE AND LATER AMENDMENTS TO THE WASHINGTON STATE AMENDMENTS.

Whereas, the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials have promulgated a revised Uniform Plumbing Code entitled the 2003 edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code, and

Whereas, for uniformity throughout jurisdictions and for the protection of public health, safety and welfare the Town adopts the latest versions of the Uniform Plumbing Code and amendments thereto, and the Washington State amendments and their amendments, and

Whereas, the 2003 edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code is consistent with the Comprehensive Plan and has no adverse environmental affect, and

Whereas, a copy of the 2003 edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code is available for public inspection as required by law.

Now, therefore, the Town Council of the Town of South Prairie, Pierce County, Washington do ordain as follows:

Section 1: The 2003 edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code is hereby adopted and incorporated by reference as if set out in full, and amendments noted in the attached "Exhibit A".

Section 2: Any previous ordinances and/or sections thereof, inconsistent with the 2003 edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code are hereby repealed.

Section 3: If any provision of this ordinance, the 2003 edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code, Washington State amendments, or amendments thereto, are determined to be invalid or unenforceable for any reason, the remaining provisions of this ordinance and/or the 2003 edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code and/or Washington State amendments and/or any amendments thereto shall remain in force and affect.

Section 4: This ordinance shall take effect and be in force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval and publication as required by law.
