ORDINANCE NO. 462
AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF SOUTH PRAIRIE, PIERCE
COUNTY, WASHINGTON CALLING FOR THE CONTINUATION OF A SPECIAL LEVY TO BE VOTED
ON AT THE GENERAL ELECTION TAKING PLACE IN NOVEMBER 2005 FOR THE OPERATION OF
EMERGENCY AID VEHICLE AND SETTING FORTH BALLOT TITLE.
Whereas,
the Town of South Prairie has been
operating an emergency aid unit for the benefits of the citizens, and
Whereas, the operation of a medical aid unit is for
the health, safety and welfare of the citizens, and
Whereas, the ballot issue was for a duration of six
(6) years, and
Whereas, Resolution No. 139
was introduced on 12/1/92, passed and published on 1219/92 which allowed for
the levy and the same resolution was introduced and passed on January 5, 1993
and published on May 5, 1993, and
Whereas, Resolution 180 was introduced and passed on
5/4/99, and
Whereas, the special levy for the citizens of South
Prairie was out of sequence
with the other levies for the operation of the
emergency medical aid vehicle in Pierce
County, and
Whereas,
Resolution 180 resulted in a change of the sequence to conform with the rest of
the county.
Now, therefore, the Town
Council of the Town of South Prairie, Pierce County, Washington do ordain
as follows:
Section 1: The Town Council, Town of South Prairie hereby
directs the Pierce County Auditor to place on the ballot of the election to be
held in November 2005, the proposition for a special multi-year levy with the
first year levy of 2005 and the first year

collection for 2006, for the purposes of providing
funds for the continuation of equipping, maintaining and operating emergency
aid vehicles in the following form:
PROPOSITION
Levy for Operation of Emergency Aid Vehicle
Shall
the Town of South Prairie levy an excess of $0.50 per $1,000.00 assessed
valuation in 2005 for collection in 2006 to raise funds for the operation of an
emergency aid vehicle; the duration of this levy being six (6) years?

Section 2: That a
certified copy of this Ordinance showing the proposed ballot proposition be
furnished to the Pierce County Auditor by the Town Clerk/Treasurer.
Section 3: If any
provision of this ordinance, or Resolution 139 or Resolution shall be invalid
or unenforceable for any reason, the remaining provisions of this ordinance and
Resolution 139 and 180 shall remain in force and affect.
