ORDINANCE
NO. 346
AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF SOUTH PRAIRIE, PIERCE
COUNTY, WASHINGTON, ADOPTING A BUDGET FOR
THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1998.
Whereas, the Mayor of the Town of South
Prairie has completed
and placed on file with the town clerk a proposed budget and estimate of the amounts of money required to meet
public expenses, bond retirement
expenses, reserve funds, expenses of government of the town for the fiscal year ending December 31,
1998, and a public hearing was held
permitting the taxpayers an opportunity to be heard on the said budget,
and
Whereas, the proposed budget does not
exceed the lawful limit
of taxation allowed by law to be levied on
the property within the town for the
purposes set forth in the said budget and the estimated expenditures set forth in said budget being all necessary
to carry on in the government of the town
for the year 1998 and being
sufficient to meet the various needs of the town during 1998.
Now, therefore, the Town Council of the Town of South Prairie, Pierce County, Washington do
ordain as follows:
Section 1: The
budget for the Town of South Prairie, Pierce County,
Washington for the year 1998 is hereby adopted in its final form and content as set forth in the document
attached hereto and incorporated by
reference entitled "1998 Budget, Town of South Prairie", three copies of which are on file
in the office of the town clerk.
Section_ 2: Estimated resources and
appropriations for
expenditures during the year 1998 are set
forth in summary form on the attached
pages, which are incorporated by reference as if set out in full.
Section 3: The town clerk is hereby directed to submit
a
certified copy of the budget herein adopted
to the Division of Municipal
Corporations in the office of the State Auditor and to the Association
of Washington Cities.
Section 4: If any
provision of this ordinance is held to be invalid or unenforceable, or if any of the
provisions on the attachments are determined
to be invalid or unenforceable for any reason the remaining provisions
of this ordinance, and the remaining attachments shall
be in force and affect.
Section 5: This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force
January 1, 1998.
