ORDINANCE NO. 289
AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF SOUTH PRAIRIE, PIERCE COUNTY,
WASHINGTON GUARANTEEING CONFIDENTIALITY OF TAXPAYER INFORMATION, INCORPORATING BY REFERENCE PROVISIONS OF RCW 82.32.330 FOR PURPOSES
OF SHARING CONFIDENTIAL TAXPAYER INFORMATION WITH THE STATE OF WASHINGTON, DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE.
Whereas, the Town desires to share certain taxpayer information with the Washington State Department of Revenue, and
Whereas, the Washington State Department of Revenue in its correspondence of June 29, 1993, through Jim Thomas, Chief, Program Administration, Legislation & Policy, has set forth a method for the Town to share such information, and
Whereas, the Washington State Department of Revenue requires that the Town ordinance parallel the requirements of RCW 82.32.330.
Now, therefore, the Town Council of the Town of South Prairie, Pierce County, Washington do ordain as follows:
Section 1: The Town requests and approves entering into agreement with the Washington State Department of Revenue for sharing of confidential taxpayer information.
Section__ 2 The Town incorporates by
provisions set forth in RCW 82.32.330 as if set out in full.
Section 3: This ordinance shall incorporate, without further action of the Town Council, all amendments, modifications and repeals of RCW 82.32.330.
Section 4: All confidential taxpayer information provided by the State of Washington, Department of Revenue shall be held
confidentially and authorize the Mayor, on behalf of the Town, to enter into an agreement guaranteeing that the information provided by the State of Washington, Department of Revenue to the Town shall be kept confidential.
Section 5: If any provision of this ordinance, or RCW 82.32.330 is determined to be unconstitutional or unenforceable for any reason, the remaining provisions of this ordinance, and RCW 82.32.330, incorporated by reference by this ordinance and all further amendments, modifications and repeals shall be held in force and effect.
Section 6: This ordinance shall take effect and be in force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval and publication as required by law.
